Spring 2024 started with picking up a new lens for my Canon R7...the new RF200-800. What a fantastic lens this has been, and I've made several trips down to Frank Lake (Alberta) to capture some of the busy migration season, as well as the eagles, hawks, and owls around Okotoks! Before that though, a trip to the Island of Hawai'i (Big Island) was long overdue. Six years since our last trip there, it did not disappoint. Beautiful weather, scenery, and of course sunsets. And I managed to coax Leeann and Luke out to the beach a few times to watch the sunset and get some great family photos. As well, Luke graduated. Crazy. Of course, carrying my camera gear, getting photos of him and his friends (and almost getting kicked out of a downtown mall because of my large white lens). It felt appropriate sitting in the hockey arena in Okotoks that Luke played so many hockey games that I took photos of, getting his photo through the hockey glass one more time. These are some of my favourite photos in the first half of 2024...
